Chris Hawk
Senior Development Manager
Chris Hawk is a Development Manager and the primary point of contact for the Solar City Solar Project. He has been with Apex Clean Energy since 2021 and manages projects in Mississippi, Virginia, and West Virginia. Prior to joining the Apex team, Chris worked in land use planning and environmental consulting. He grew up in Central Virginia, calls Charlottesville home, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Hampden-Sydney College.
Brian O'Shea
Director of Public Engagement
Brian O'Shea leads Apex Clean Energy's public and community engagement efforts for projects in Mississippi and throughout the region. Brian began his career organizing in rural communities in North Dakota and throughout Minnesota before moving to the private sector in 2013, where he worked as a consultant to numerous businesses, trade associations, nonprofits, and advocacy groups across the country on issues ranging from education policy to workforce development to clean energy. As Apex's director of public engagement, he works closely with local elected leaders, community leaders, landowners, and residents to gather local feedback, answer common questions, and work with communities to help realize their opportunities for renewable energy development and accelerate America’s shift to clean energy.
Quita Bride
Public Engagement Manager
Quita Bride is the Public Engagement Manager at Apex Clean Energy, where she leads media relations and outreach for the Soul City Solar project in Hinds County. A Vicksburg native, Quita brings over 15 years of experience in public relations, internal communications, and engagement to her role.
Before joining Apex Clean Energy, Quita held key positions at several leading organizations, including National Public Radio (NPR), Johnson & Johnson, UnitedHealth Group, and the City of Jackson. Her most notable achievement was serving as Communications Manager at Continental, where she played a key role in launching Mississippi's first truck tire plant.
The Jackson State University alum is deeply committed to community development in Hinds County. In previous roles, she facilitated corporate support to nonprofits, including the Boys & Girls Club, the Partnership for a Healthy Mississippi, the Mississippi Blues Marathon, Stewpot Community Kitchen, Toys for Tots, and the Salvation Army. She also co-founded the Hinds County School District’s Cool2Care Health Fair and co-chaired former Mayor Harvey Johnson Jr.'s back-to-school events.
Through Soul City Solar, Quita will continue to leverage her passion for strategic communication and civic engagement to drive positive change and foster meaningful connections that strengthen Hinds County.
